ONE:
IT ALL STARTS WITH AN IDEA
Already have an amazing project idea? Good. Write it down and start
planning. Otherwise, talk to your friends, and put something together.
Studio 47 members always have a couple projects going, so it's also
a good idea to come to meetings and check up with everyone else.
Time flies. So get to work. If you're still in need of inspiration,
try taking a look at our Vault of past projects.
TWO:
TALK IT UP
Any
member will tell you, the best way to get started on a video project
is to meet other people. Come to a regular Studio 47 meeting, or
to a social. If you already have a film project, you will find hordes
of enthusiastic students, eager to help you out. If you don't already
have an idea, start out by helping other students with their films.
THREE:
SHOOT IT
The
Studio 47 can provide equipment and training. Come to a regulare
training session to learn more about the equipment and get a few
basic shooting tips. It also really helps to work on a couple of
student films to see how other people shoot. Look for updates on
training sessions - which should begin by the start of October.
FOUR:
EDIT IT
With
programs like iMovie, it's easier than ever to edit. Just make sure
to schedule a slot ahead of time. If you're trying to do some more
advanced work with Final Cut Pro, it's a good idea to enlist the
help of an experienced editor. Again, talk to Studio 47 members
- there are plenty with expertise here.
FIVE:
SCREEN IT
To
get your work seen on campus, Studio 47 provides the opportunity
of several festival screenings. We always see a huge attendance,
and violate several theater fire codes. For details and guidelines
on project submissions, consult the screenings
page.
